About Us

HPower & Associates, LLC was established in 1992 as the primary means by which we do the work God has called us to do. We strive to be faithful and obedient stewards of the resources and opportunities for service presented to us by Him. We are accountable to our family, clients, associates, advisors—and ultimately the Lord. We strive to be a positive presence in the communities we serve.

The primary focus of our work is to help clients more fully develop and access the potential of their people resources, by enhancing the effectiveness and productivity of individuals, teams and leaders in their organizations. We support them in developing and maintaining a work environment where:

  • Growth of the individual is nurtured
  • The legitimate needs of each stakeholder are met
  • People love coming to work

We help clients establish and maintain in-house learning and development capabilities designed to meet their identified needs and increase the return-on-investments made in their people. We provide clients:

  • Access to high value assessments, training and facilitation resources demonstrated through research to be accurate and reliable around the world
  • On-going support to enable in-house trainers and organization development consultants to effectively and professionally integrate selected assessment and training resources into their learning designs.

We align ourselves with selected publishers of researched and validated learning tools and processes to ensure our clients are able to provide high value learning and development experiences to their organization. We strengthen our professional and business competencies by maintaining strong working relationships with the developers of the resources we bring to clients and through active membership in selected professional organizations.

Why do we do what we do? Our over-arching purpose is to enable people to experience more success and attain greater significance in their lives—through the development of healthy and effective relationships at work and home.

A NOTE FROM DENNY

From time-to-time, I am asked how I am able to maintain my optimistic attitude, and spirit of joy and peace, even in those times when things don’t seem to work out as I would have liked.
I must confess that it hasn’t always been that way for me. There was a time in my life when I was consumed by worry, overwhelmed with the stress of daily events, and worked 16-hour days to “make” things happen—to achieve success.

Everything I know today I have learned from someone else. Over the years I have concluded that the accumulation of wealth, even if I could achieve it, is an inappropriate definition of success and an insufficient reason for doing the work I do. I have come to understand that success is not something to be “achieved.” Success is something to be experienced on a day-by-day, moment-by-moment basis.
When I reach the end of my days, which may be a moment or two from now, I must be able to look back on something of greater significance than the pursuit of houses, land, machines, stocks and money. Nor is fame of any lasting value.

I will consider my work to have been wasted and my life purpose unfulfilled unless I can recall time spent with a loving, spiritually-strong family, time spent investing in the lives of others to help them more fully become the persons God desires them to be, and making an earnest attempt to serve God in accordance with His will for me. Nothing else makes much sense.

My foundational goals towards which I continually strive, are anchored by Psalm 20:7 and include:

  • Honoring God in all I do
  • Modeling the love of Jesus Christ to family and all persons I encounter
  • Acting with integrity at all times
  • Practicing the principles and values I work to impart to others
  • Maintaining a healthy balance in every aspect of my life.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7
A final thought: For many of us, there is a deep desire to integrate our personal relationship with God and that part of ourselves we invest daily in the work we do—to operate our businesses and conduct our personal lives according to Biblical principles.
There have been many valuable resources I have used in striving to achieve that integration–starting in 1989, when I initially began to envision HPower & Associates, on through 1992, when I started the business, and over the years as the business has continued to evolve.
